4 MINS REAd
Trusting the chef to plate up some of their most delicious creations is one of the best ways to experience a meal. Not only will you try dishes you wouldn’t otherwise consider, you’ll get to experience what they believe to be their most exceptional bites.
That’s a tasting menu. And if you’re looking for a Sydney tasting menu that will convince you to seek out this style of dining everywhere you go, Crown Sydney's restaurants are the place to be.

What is a Tasting Menu?
Multiple courses. Seasonal ingredients. One set price. That’s a tasting menu in a nutshell. It’s a curated menu that showcases the chef’s best skills and dishes, and their creativity with fresh, seasonal produce.
In order to provide as much variety and enjoyment as possible, tasting menu experiences often comprise of many smaller courses rather than just two or three.
The main difference from a la carte dining is that you’re not the one choosing what you will eat. While you can of course ask for omissions or changes based on dietary requirements, it is recommended to enjoy each dish as it comes as much as possible in order to taste each bite as suggested by the chef who knows the menu better than anyone.
Why Choose a Tasting Menu?
Professional chefs dedicate their careers to food. They taste, experiment, taste again. They explore cuisines and put their knowledge to the test on the plate.
It’s hard to beat that level of care and experience. Which is why it’s also easy to trust them when it comes to dining.
Booking a tasting menu is a culinary experience that invites you to try a variety of dishes in one sitting. It is ideal for special occasions, celebrations, and simply exploring food and discovering your new favourite dishes.

Pro tip: Add the wine pairing to celebrate Italian cuisine like a local.

Woodcut
Fire and smoke. Steam and ice. They’re the elements behind the menu at Woodcut, and they’re part of what makes this modern Australian restaurant stand out.
There’s no a la carte here. Just three set menus to choose from; Silver Wattle, Golden Wattle, and Black Wattle. All three begin with wood oven bread and include a Kidman aged premium T-bone steak. Silver Wattle includes a raw fish plate, burrata, swordfish, and crab cakes. Golden Wattle serves up cold seafood on ice, octopus, John Dory, and lipstick peppers. The Black Wattle set menu is the most luxurious of the three, serving up N25 caviar, Southern rock lobster, and more.
